Chapter 14 14 Great Mr.
Chapter 14 14. Great Sir
There is no shortage of rooms in the carriage.
There are less than 60 students and professors in Hogwarts, so the dormitories are not divided into four-person or five-person rooms, but spacious two-person rooms.
It was not a coincidence that Jon and Neville were assigned to the same dormitory, but Professor McGonagall did it on purpose.
Except for Lavender, the only girl among the freshmen, there are four boys including Jon, who are exactly two of them who were brought back from outside, and two of them are family members of the Order of the Phoenix who already have knowledge of the magic world.
Whether it is to make Jon and Justin integrate into the identity of wizards faster, or to make them get out of the sadness and grief of leaving their familiar family and environment as soon as possible, arranging them separately is undoubtedly the best choice.
The student dormitory is not big, but it is more than enough for two people. There are two four-poster beds, two desks and chairs, and a window that cannot be opened.
The bed was made neatly before they came in, and the daily necessities and several new robes were also neatly arranged.
Jon sat in front of the window, looking at the scenery outside the carriage window.
After the dinner at the seaside, they got on the carriage and continued their journey. Looking out through the window, they could only see a dark patch outside, and occasionally something seemed to pass by, the ground was shaking slightly, and whistling past.
"I heard that the magic on this carriage was improved based on the magic on the Knight Bus. We can go almost anywhere in Europe on it, but it seems that Professor Dumbledore has never let this carriage leave the UK."
Neville was sitting on the bed opposite Jon, blinking and telling the history of the carriage.
Jon retracted his gaze from the window and looked at the round-faced boy opposite.
"Did your family teach you magic before you came to Hogwarts?"
Neville nodded.
"Of course, even if we weren't in Hogwarts, our family lives in danger. The Longbottoms and Ron's Weasleys are wanted by the Ministry of Magic. So before I came to Hogwarts, my father used his wand to teach me a few spells, but they were all small spells for asking for help. I don't have a wand myself, and I don't have many opportunities to practice. I don't know how to do advanced spells."
Jon immediately became interested. Whether in peacetime or in the dangerous present, magic will bring him the greatest attraction.
"Can you show me a demonstration?"
Neville didn't refuse. He raised his wand, as if he hadn't felt the wand like this for a long time. He was looking for the feel, and then he gently raised it and swung it horizontally.
"Fluorescent flash."
A faint light lit up at the tip of Neville's wand. The light was not dazzling, but it also illuminated this space in the dormitory.
Jon looked at the light, his eyes were shining, and he raised his chestnut wand.
"When reciting the spell, you have to raise one and cross one, right?"
"Yes, this is a very simple spell. If you are proficient in it, you can even omit the wand-waving gesture and cast it when the wand is not in your hand, so that the wizard can easily find the wand that you have thrown away and forgotten where it is."
Seeing Jon eager to try, Neville couldn't help but continue.
"I don't recommend you try it yourself at this time. Although this spell is simple, it is easy for beginners to make mistakes when learning and ignite the tip of the wand, which will cause irreversible damage to the wand itself."
Jon stopped his actions immediately. He couldn't wait to try the magic of this world, but if there was a risk of hurting the wand in his hand, he could still suppress his curiosity.
After all, for him and this Hogwarts, the wand in his hand is more than just a wand.
"Anyway, we are in a magic school now, so there is really no rush to learn magic." Jon put the wand back into the pocket of his robe in front of the bed, "What classes do we have tomorrow?"
After the dinner, Professor McGonagall handed out the class schedule, and Jon and Neville also received a copy.
"The first class in the morning is Professor Slughorn's History of Magic, followed by Professor McGonagall's Herbology class, and there is also a spell class with Professor Flitwick in the afternoon. Finally, in the evening, we are also assigned to help the fifth-year seniors who are preparing dinner."
While they were talking, they also changed into pajamas and lay on the soft bed. The two were not very sleepy, but they talked about other things while lying on the bed.
"Does the dark devil you mentioned have a name?"
"Of course, he is not a real demon that crawled out of hell, but no one dared to say his name before. People in the magic world called him 'the mysterious man'."
"Isn't he now the head of the Ministry of Magic and the Hogwarts Castle? People don't call him that now, right?"
"You guessed right. My father told me that after the Dark Lord consolidated the power of the entire magic world, his personality seemed to have changed. He was not as cruel and crazy as before. He divided all wizards into different classes according to their bloodline, but he did not completely eliminate or imprison the Muggle wizards that he had always wanted to kill. As for the names in the outside world, people did not dare to call him 'mysterious man' or 'Dark Lord'. Except for his most core subordinates who still called him master, other people in the magic world called him 'great sir'."
"Great sir."
"What are you laughing at?"
"If he came up with this name himself, it would be too self-boasting. If others deliberately spread it to call him like this, then the meaning of kneeling and licking is too straightforward."
"Actually, think about it, those people are also trying to survive."
"Yes, no one wants to die."
"But for some people, some things are more important than life and death."
When the first ray of sunlight in the morning shone in from the window, Jon also opened his eyes from his sleep.
After Neville washed up with him, he left the dormitory and went to the restaurant on the carriage for breakfast.
The three meals a day here are prepared by the students themselves, and breakfast is no exception. In addition to the class schedule, Professor McGonagall also arranged a cooking schedule. Every day, students of different grades are responsible for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If the number of students in this grade is relatively small, some lower-grade students will be arranged to help them.
Ron Justin and Lavender in the girls' dormitory joined them at the table. After all, they are all freshmen of the same grade. They have the most opportunities to communicate and contact with each other when they attend classes together.
After finishing breakfast, the five of them walked towards the History of Magic classroom together, ready to start their first class after arriving at Hogwarts.
