Chapter 71 70 Never
Chapter 71 70. Never
The first dinner at Hogwarts Castle ended in such a simple way.
The mudbloods returned to their lounge. Although the dormitory was also located in the basement, it was dark, damp and cold, but it was not so bad that everyone had to sleep on a big bunk bed together.
Each mudblood even had a separate dormitory, but the conditions in the dormitory were also very poor, with musty bedding, no windows, only a shabby wooden door for entering and exiting, and the space was very small. In addition to a bed, there was not even enough space for a desk.
Combined with what Draco heard in Diagon Alley, and the fact that the students did not dare to communicate with each other just now, the division of separate dormitories was probably to avoid too much communication between the mudblood students.
Last year, it was discovered that the mudbloods had secretly formed a gang in this castle, which made the managers alert.
A group of slaves who had not yet been tamed gathered together. No matter what they discussed, it was not what the "master" wanted to see.
However, this separate dormitory gave Jon a lot of convenience. In order to maintain the effect of transformation, he needed to drink Polyjuice Potion every 12 hours. It was okay once or twice, but if he did it every day, his roommate would definitely find something wrong.
Later, he also needed a secret space to make Polyjuice Potion, but even if this was an independent dormitory, it was obviously not a safe place. Not only was it close to other students' dormitories, the smell emitted when making potions was easily noticed, and mudbloods had no privacy in this castle. He didn't know when someone would rush into his room to search.
But in the area of Hogwarts Castle, especially since Jon had read the original book, it was not difficult for him to find a private space. The only thing he had to worry about was whether that place was exposed in this world.
The night passed quietly.
The next morning, Jon's biological clock, which he had developed over the past month, woke him up early.
In addition to normal classes, the Mudbloods have many other tasks to do in this castle, such as cleaning all the public toilets in the castle, as well as the Quidditch court outside the castle, the owl shed, and some unused greenhouses for herbal classes.
Their work basically avoids contact with pure-blood and half-blood students. Places such as pure-blood and half-blood student dormitories, libraries, auditoriums, classrooms, and professors' offices are all cleaned by house elves.
Their work on the first morning of the first day of school is to clean the public toilets in the castle that have been basically idle for two months.
Two male and female prefects were also assigned to the Mudblood students. They were both among the students who received sandwiches as rewards last night. They have obviously accepted their "slave" status from the bottom of their hearts and become part of the bloodline class.
The two prefects assigned different floors to the mudblood students of each grade. Hogwarts Castle restricted the movement areas of mudblood students. Except for the areas marked out and the places they were to clean, they were not allowed to enter other areas. Once discovered, being hung up and whipped was the least of their punishment.
The area where the second-year students were assigned was on the eighth floor, which happened to be the place where Jon planned to observe after entering the castle.
It was still early, and except for the house elves who were busy with breakfast in the kitchen and the mudbloods who were ready to start working, the students and teachers were basically still asleep.
After receiving the tools for cleaning, Jon and several other students moved very carefully and came to the eighth floor together without making any loud noise.
At the corner next to the stairs, a few steps ahead, there was a tapestry related to trolls, and opposite the tapestry was a blank wall.
When passing by here, Jon just glanced at the blank wall, without any pause in his steps, and there was no change in his expression on his face.
This wall is not specially marked, which means that this place is not fully open to the public, and not every student in the castle knows it.
"Remember that we can only go to this position of the bathroom at most, and we must not go any further. That is the area near the principal's office. If we are discovered, Mr. Dolohov will not let us go."
The chestnut-haired girl pursed her lips and reminded Jon and the others with a serious face. At this time, Jon finally heard other students calling her.
"Hermione." A girl hesitated and asked in a low voice, "Taylor, Taylor, will they really never remember it again?"
There are not many second-year students, probably only seven or eight people in total. It should be because there are no other people around. This is the first time Jon heard that mudblood students gathered together to talk actively.
When the girl asked the question, the others all looked gloomy, as if this question reminded them of some sad past.
Hermione's face was a little pale, she pursed her lips tightly, as if she was gritting her teeth and trying to give a negative answer to this question, but in the end, she still lowered her head.
"Maybe. It will never happen again."
The students were obviously in a bad mood, and the girl who asked the question had slightly red eyes, but no one dared to stay in the corridor for too long. They picked up the tools in their hands and went into the public bathroom to start cleaning.
They only had more than an hour to clean this bathroom that had not been used for two months, and they had to finish before breakfast, so no one was lazy and everyone finished their work quickly. Finally, when pure-blood and half-blood students started to get up and appear in the corridor, they left the eighth floor and went to the "hall" that belonged to the mudbloods alone - the basement where they gathered last night to have breakfast.
There was nothing much to say about the food, which was nothing more than some food that normal people would not eat. The conditions of Hogwarts Castle were naturally not so bad, and it was obviously intentional to feed the mudbloods with these.
After breakfast, the mudblood students also had to start their class study time.
This was actually what Jon wanted to know. Although this aspect was also introduced in the information provided by Dumbledore, he still wanted to experience it himself, how the mudblood students should study in this castle without a wand.
