Chapter 62: Mudbloods Get Out of Hogwarts
Greiter didn't expect that he wouldn't have a chance to talk to Luna.
Before dawn, Professor Flitwick walked into the tower with a sad face.
He was accompanied by Filch, the janitor that everyone hated.
"Mike Greiter, you are suspected of murdering a Hogwarts student. According to the order of Headmaster Dumbledore, you are required to come with us for investigation now."
Filch's voice was hoarse, and his face was full of gloating.
Greiter ignored him and turned his eyes to his dean.
"Greiter, I believe you are innocent, but in order to prove your innocence, you may need to be locked up in solitary confinement for a period of time."
Greiter looked puzzled. The matter of the Chamber of Secrets had been resolved, and Tom Riddle was locked up in the Room of Requirement by him.
It should be said that this school year has been stable, how could someone be killed.
If only Filch came here, Greiter would probably throw him out directly, and he wouldn't even bother to give him a cold eye.
But Professor Flitwick also came here, and he looked sad.
"Okay, professor, wait for me to clean up."
Flitwick nodded and found a stool to sit down.
"McGreiter, you are a suspect now. To prevent others from being killed, leave your wand behind."
Filch's voice of adding insult to injury resounded throughout the dormitory.
Flitwick wanted to stop him, but after a long sigh, he nodded silently.
Greiter took out the wand from his pocket, bypassed the gloating Filch, and handed it to the dean.
Terry also got up from the bed, "Professor, it's impossible. Greiter just won the Order of Merlin yesterday."
Flitwick waved his hand, "It's okay, you guys go back to sleep, Greiter will be fine, I believe in him as much as you do."
How could he sleep in this situation? Terry and the others all got up and gathered around Greiter.
"Don't worry, the professor said it's okay."
After this happened, Greiter was more confused than angry about being wronged.
He was really curious about who had caused the trouble and put the blame on him.
It didn't take too long. Under the worried eyes of Terry and his group, Gretel followed Professor Flitwick out of the Ravenclaw common room.
The murder happened on the fourth floor of the castle, in the corridor where the Philosopher's Stone was hidden last school year.
On the way to the crime scene, Professor Flitwick ignored Filch's chattering dissuasion.
He introduced the current situation to Gretel.
An hour ago, when the night watchman Filch finished his last patrol.
The body of a young wizard was found on the fourth floor.
After identification, it was confirmed that he was a first-year student from the Muggle world of Slytherin College.
Because of his background, he had been bullied by the self-proclaimed noble pure bloods many times in the past two weeks.
Last night, under the intensification of others, he escaped from the common room, but he never thought that he would lose his life.
When Gretel arrived at the scene, he saw Dumbledore and the deans of the other three colleges.
In front of everyone, a body with a dry body, gray hair, and almost shrunk into a mummy, wearing a silver-green ribbon, leaned against the wall.
On the wall behind him, a row of large words were smeared with blood: Mudbloods get out of Hogwarts.
Gretl's full name was clearly marked in the lower right corner.
After seeing Gretl coming, Dumbledore nodded to Filch, "Okay, Mr. Filch, you must be tired after patrolling all night. Go back and rest first, and leave the rest to the professors."
Filch was stunned, and then he replied awkwardly.
Before leaving, he looked at Gretl with regret.
He looked at the mummy leaning against the wall again, and then dragged his tired steps downstairs.
Of course, Gretl knew that the old ghoul was regretful that he could not see his fun.
"Mr. Gretel, calling you here doesn't mean we regard you as the murderer. We just want to find you to understand the situation."
Facing Dumbledore's gaze, Gretel looked at the blue under his glasses without any guilt.
"Where were you after curfew last night?"
"I left the Room of Requirement at around 11 o'clock, and it should have been less than 11:30 when I arrived at the tower. Anyone who was still awake in the common room at that time can prove it for me."
"We will verify this matter later. Now I need you to confirm whether you know this person?"
Dumbledore sprayed a silver light from his wand, and a boy with a short head, a watermelon head, sparse teeth but particularly sharp teeth appeared.
Of course Gretel didn't know him. Among the four colleges, Slytherin had the least people dealing with him.
It was very difficult to talk to those pure-blood guys who almost blocked their brains.
If the deceased hadn't been wearing Slytherin uniforms, he couldn't even confirm the college.
"Carrian Searle, a freshman in our college."
Snape's words sounded calm, but everyone could hear the anger hidden under the calm.
"Severus, calm down, we will definitely find the murderer."
After asking a few questions, the professors were sure that Grete did not understand the situation.
But letting him go back directly would not wash away the injustice on him.
Dumbledore pondered for a moment, "How about this, Gretel, you go with Professor Sprout first, stay with her for a while, we will find the murderer as soon as possible and clear your name."
Gretel knew that whether he was in detention or not, this basin of dirty water would be on his head for the time being.
Detention was the best way at present. The murderer would definitely strike again. As long as he strikes, Gretel, who was in detention, would automatically get out of this matter.
Gretel was helpless. He knew that this matter was related to Tom Riddle.
The appearance of being drained of vitality was exactly the same as Ginny Weasley.
But he had no way to prove his innocence.
If he told about Tom Riddle's notebook, he would have to confess that he was related to the attack on Ginny Weasley.
But if he didn't tell, he could only wait for the professors to catch the murderer before he could be free.
Gretel couldn't help but feel a little annoyed. If he had known earlier, he might as well not have participated in the notebook matter. Now he didn't get any benefits and got into trouble.
He thought of going to the Room of Requirement to verify his idea, but there was no reason to leave.
——
"Grete, don't worry, believe us, we will definitely clear your name."
Professor Sprout didn't know what Grete was worried about, but thought he was angry about the injustice he suffered.
"Professor, I was wondering if someone else would be killed if the murderer is not caught next time."
Sprout pondered for a moment, "Indeed, but Dumbledore said that he would open all the magic circles in the school, and as long as the murderer takes action, he will be caught.
Don't worry, these few days, just help me take care of the magical plants in the greenhouse.
As for the courses you missed during the detention period, Filius will apply for a time converter for you to make up for it."
Until he settled down in Sprout's office, Grete didn't figure out how Tom Riddle got out of the Room of Requirement.
He was a disembodied notebook soul, and he was absolutely incapable of doing such a thing without the help of others.
