Chapter 150: The Triwizard Tournament
Seeing Chen Bin yawn, Dumbledore said helplessly: "I suspect that although the original version of the lich transformation technique disappeared with the demise of ancient Greece, this black magic originated from Africa is likely to have spread to ancient Rome. Then, Rome went through countless wars, which caused this not very practical black magic to be cut off in the European continent. Only the isolated British Isles retained the original version."
After saying this, Chen Bin gave him a summary: "Old sir, do you want to say that Voldemort referred to the original version of the lich transformation technique and then improved the despicable Helbo version of the Horcrux production method?"
"That's right." Dumbledore nodded.
Chen Bin complained in his heart that he had complicated a matter with just one sentence, but he asked, "But what's the use of knowing what documents he referred to? Isn't it enough to destroy all the Horcruxes?"
Dumbledore sighed and said lightly, "To defeat the opponent, you must first understand him. Aaron, can you find the original lich transformation spell left in the UK for me?"
"Ding-trigger special task: find the original version of lich transformation spell." Chen Bin dubbed this scene in his mind, and after a secret conversation with the old man for a while, he quickly agreed to this request.
Then, he walked out of the wall of Hogwarts, picked up the mobile phone and called Holly Taylor.
"I want you to check what Egyptian artifacts with ancient characters were lost in the British Museum between 1938 and 1981, whether it is the original, the copy, or the photo record. I want any African lich transformation spell related to the original version."
Chen Bin agreed so readily, just to slap Dumbledore's face. Since he himself would question the records of ancient times in medieval manuscripts, would a more cautious person like him give his life to a manuscript that is difficult to distinguish between true and false?
If a medieval wizard accidentally copied a spell incorrectly, copied a principle missing, or even misspelled or mistranslated a meaning, wouldn't Voldemort be afraid of creating a modified Horcrux that would take his own life based on the wrong document?
Therefore, he is more inclined to believe that Voldemort has found a real artifact containing the Lich Transmutation Technique.
The entire European magic world can no longer preserve such ancient artifacts, but it does not mean that there are none in Muggle society. Didn't the British Empire plunder ancient civilizations around the world? Voldemort was born in a Muggle orphanage, so how could he not know that the British Museum has a large number of antiques from various civilizations.
Since Dumbledore couldn't find it in the magic world, Chen Bin certainly had his eyes on the Muggle authorities. Regardless of whether the pyramids were fake or not, the British army at that time might have really found real artifacts among the Egyptian people, which might have included the most original version of the Lich Transmutation Technique.
For a whole afternoon, the students used magic to clean the castle spotlessly. Many dirty portraits were also scrubbed clean, and even the doors and ceilings covered with old marks were brand new.
This made Filch worship Chen Bin as a god again, because he knew that Dumbledore's decree was inspired by Chen Bin - students are also part of Hogwarts, why should Filch and the house elves handle everything?
Therefore, when the students returned to the dormitory to change clothes, the clean hall had been decorated with new decorations, including huge silk banners hanging on the wall, each of which also represented their respective colleges: a golden lion on a red background (Gryffindor), a bronze eagle on a blue background (Ravenclaw), a black badger on a yellow background (Hufflepuff) and a silver python on a green background (Slytherin).
The banner behind the staff desk was the most dazzling, which was the Hogwarts coat of arms with a lion, eagle, badger, snake and capital H.
The last class at Hogwarts usually ends at or before 5 pm, mainly depending on whether the professor will drag the get out of class. Of course, some classes are also designated to start in the evening, such as "Astronomy".
On this day, students would rather sit in the classroom to finish the afternoon class than clean up for half a day and then line up in front of the castle to receive guests from afar.
The students' feet were a little sore from standing, and the wind made their cheeks hurt a little, and their faces became listless. They wished that the representatives of the two schools would come and finish early, so that they could finish dinner quickly and go to bed.
[Note: Professor Namar suddenly notified: All club activities will be suspended from today. ]
"Weasley, put on your hat." Professor McGonagall, who had taken the choking medicine, began to spray any students who were not dressed properly, and she was forced to take off any inappropriate accessories.
It was a cold evening, and the three suicidal people stood in the fourth row from the front, yawning with a group of students.
"It's almost six o'clock," Ron looked at the watch and said, "How do you think they will come? By train?"
"Why don't Bin and Kate come here to greet them?" Harry asked puzzled.
"Do you think a terminally lazy person can't think of a reason to convince the headmaster?" Hermione asked back.
The two thought about it and felt that "what you said makes sense, but I have nothing to say."
When everyone was guessing how the friendly forces would enter the battlefield, a huge monster appeared in the sky above the Forbidden Forest and flew towards the castle.
"It's a dragon!" the junior students fantasized.
"It's a plane!" the Muggle-born students shouted.
"It's a UFO!" Harry was telling a cold joke.
All the students also looked at him with contempt.
Finally, a huge powder blue carriage landed in front of them. It was as big as a house, but it was pulled down from the sky by twelve giant silver-maned flying horses like elephants.
After a loud noise that shook the earth, the students still managed to avoid the assault of the carriage without any danger.
The wizard in a light blue robe jumped out of the car first and opened a golden spiral staircase from the floor. A tall woman who was a little taller than Hagrid walked out of the car first. With Dumbledore leading the applause, she was welcomed by the applause of her classmates.
Even if the tall old Dumbledore stood on tiptoe, it would be impossible for him to kiss her cheek, so he just kissed the back of the giantess's hand.
Chen Bin saw this through the mirror and was no longer interested in watching. "Kate, wake me up when you see them approaching the auditorium."
"Okay, dear." Kate kissed his cheek and took the mirror to see when she would see the wooden boat of Durmstrang emerging from the lake.
When Chen Bin was awakened, the group of people from Beauxbatons and Durmstrang were about to arrive at the auditorium. He and Kate immediately pretended to be diligent and moved four chairs to the teacher's table, telling everyone with their actions: "I am not lazy."
The principals and students of the two schools certainly would not understand why the students here looked down on the male professor on the stage.
Chen Bin thought, it's hard to change your personality, so why not? Being lazy is pretty cool.
After entering the warm auditorium, the students of Durmstrang all took off their heavy fur cloaks. Chen Bin noticed that the student with a short haircut was very popular among the group. He should be the catcher of the Bulgarian national team, Krum.
After all the students were seated, Chen Bin and Kate once again mixed into the faculty and staff and sat down at the guest of honor seat.
"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, ghosts, and - especially - distinguished guests." Dumbledore said, smiling at the foreign students. "I welcome you to Hogwarts with great joy. I hope and believe that you will feel comfortable and happy here."
A girl from Beauxbatons still wrapped her head tightly with a scarf and sneered sarcastically.
"Is she Fleur?" Katerina was too far away from the girl to see her appearance clearly.
"It should be." Chen Bin was not sure. "Her character was really arrogant at the beginning."
"Character?" Kate tilted her head, puzzled.
"Uh, don't pay attention to such strange words." Chen Bin smiled and didn't say anything else, facing the dinner party in silence. God knows if he had too much fun and changed the plot again, then Dumbledore would have the heart to kill him.
The auditorium was a little more crowded than usual, and on the stage, you can see that the school uniforms of different colors have a strong contrast with the black robes of Hogwarts.
The inner uniform of Durmstrang is red, while Beauxbatons is light blue. Girls can wear light blue, but boys wear this color. It's a bit eye-catching.
Omitting some small events and strange dishes at the banquet, when the banquet was about to end, Filch finally handed a jeweled box to Dumbledore.
"This year, Mr. Crouch and Mr. Bagman have reviewed the details of the competition," Dumbledore said as he put the box on the table. "They also made many necessary arrangements..."
The more he spoke in a pretentious tone, the more interested the students in the audience became.
Finally, he took out the wooden goblet from the box, which was filled with blue and white flames. Then, his words finally ignited the students' expectations.
"...Throw the parchment into the goblet..."
"...Registration is available within 24 hours."
"...Tomorrow on Halloween night, the goblet will select the names of the three students it thinks best represent the three schools. Tonight, the goblet will be placed in the entrance hall..."
"...Draw an age line. No one under the age of seventeen can cross this line..."
"...Once the warrior is selected by the Goblet of Fire...a magical contract that must be observed..."
Chen Bin caught Dumbledore saying these key points in a half-awake state, and then sat directly until the end of the dinner, and was awakened by Katerina.
"I saw Dumbledore wanted to scold you several times." Kate and Chen Bin walked side by side to the dormitory.
"Who told him to talk to me for five or six hours last night. The old man is not sleepy, but it doesn't mean that I am not sleepy."
"Now you become a child again?" Kate has become accustomed to Chen Bin's super thick skin.
The next morning, the hall was decorated with Halloween, with almost unchanging magic bats flying around the ceiling and hundreds of pumpkin figurines looking at everyone with squinting eyes.
The twin brothers still had full beards and were sent to the infirmary. But the students in the audience were still discussing how to bypass the 17-year-old limit of the Triwizard Tournament.
