Chapter 151: Seeking Knowledge Pavilion
While Cyrus was in the Room of Requirement, Hogwarts welcomed the first Quidditch match of the school year.
Quidditch can be said to be the most popular sport in the wizarding world, and almost every game will be attended by all the teachers and students in the school. Cyrus is not very interested in Quidditch, and he has experienced it once before, and his enthusiasm has been exhausted.
But he can use today to conduct a thorough search of Hogwarts!
The weather has been very cold these days. After Sirius's case was overturned, the Ministry of Magic did not let the Dementors return to Azkaban. Because there is still a criminal who makes trouble from time to time on the run, and Pettigrew has replaced Sirius and become the target of pursuit.
However, the Dementors near Hogwarts were taken away. After Sirius's unjust case was solved, everyone thought that no one would hurt Harry Potter again. Peter Pettigrew might have this idea, but no one thought he had the courage to return to Hogwarts.
The game has not started yet, but the atmosphere on the field is already very warm.
Under the thick leaden clouds, the shouts were getting louder and louder. Cyrus looked at the Quidditch field from a distance through the gray window. His eyesight allowed him to see the situation on the field clearly.
Dumbledore sat firmly on the high platform. Sirius and Snape were fighting endlessly in the professor's seat. The gentle Lupin acted as a moderator between the two of them. Of course, Snape didn't care about that. He was like a poisonous snake spraying venom wantonly.
Almost no one was blind enough to persuade them to be more harmonious. For Snape, Lupin and Sirius were enemies who almost killed him; and for Sirius, the pranks that year might have been a bit too much, but don't forget Snape's identity-
He was a Death Eater, and he was already a reserve Death Eater when he was in school. After graduation, Snape became a very capable subordinate of Voldemort. Many people died in Snape's hands that year.
From this perspective, Sirius only regretted not killing Snape when he was in school.
The clouds surged, and it seemed that a cold rain was about to fall.
However, Cyrus knew that the rain would not dampen the enthusiasm of the young wizards, even Snape attached great importance to the Quidditch game.
Cyrus walked slowly in the castle. Of course, he would not be stupid enough to use his original appearance. The statues in the castle were still there, and Filch was still patrolling. At this moment, he cast a disillusionment spell on himself to ensure that no one would find his trace.
Even Mrs. Norris did not smell his smell when she passed by her.
After Sirius discovered his identity in Hogsmeade, Cyrus also attached great importance to smell.
"Where might the Knowledge Pavilion be located?"
As a key building used to protect ancient magic, Cyrus did not think that the Knowledge Pavilion would be in a corner without any characteristics.
Perhaps there is an unknown secret room in the castle?
Speaking of the Chamber of Secrets, Cyrus first thought of Slytherin's Chamber of Secrets, but he didn't think the Chamber of Knowledge would be in the Chamber of Secrets. It takes Parseltongue to open the door of the Chamber of Secrets, but the four guardians don't have this ability.
Another special room is the Room of Requirement.
Unknowingly, Cyrus has walked on the corridor on the eighth floor, passing under the tapestry of the giant beating Barnabas silly, and he suddenly stopped.
"Can the Room of Requirement take me to the Chamber of Knowledge?"
As the most magical room in Hogwarts, the Room of Requirement is much more magical than Slytherin's Chamber of Secrets. And the Room of Requirement does not live up to its name at all. This is a room where you will always remember and there will be an echo. It has given great help to Harry, Draco and even Voldemort.
Last year, Cyrus also completed the refining of the Philosopher's Stone here.
"Since the location of the Pavilion of Knowledge is inside Hogwarts, the Room of Requirement may be able to reach that location directly."
Cyrus hesitated for a few seconds, and the gold Galleon in his pocket seemed to have been roasted in fire, almost burning his skin.
"It should take some time for Dumbledore to walk from the first floor to the eighth floor. I can try it first!"
Cyrus returned to the starting position and walked with his eyes closed:
"Give me the Pavilion of Knowledge."
"Give me the Pavilion of Knowledge."
"Give me the Pavilion of Knowledge."
He walked back and forth three times, and a wooden door immediately appeared on the empty wall. Cyrus felt a little familiar, as if he had seen it somewhere. But he didn't think much about it, and pushed the door open and walked in.
Cyrus pushed open the door that looked familiar and walked into a dark space.
Rows of bookshelves were lined up, standing up like the walls of a maze in the dark.
"Library?"
Cyrus was too familiar with this place.
Tom Riddle in his memory often learned knowledge in the library, and last year Cyrus would occasionally go to the restricted book area.
"Because the library fits the meaning of seeking knowledge, so the library was opened?" Cyrus was a little confused.
Cyrus certainly couldn't have mastered all the magic knowledge in the library, but compared to these magics, he was more concerned about ancient magic.
It's not that the magic here is useless. In fact, it's quite the opposite. There are many ancient books in the Hogwarts Library, but the magic books here are vast, and most of them are modern magic documents collected in the past hundred years.
"It seems that the Room of Requirement is not omnipotent. It's probably unlikely to find the Pavilion of Knowledge by this method." Cyrus thought about it and planned to leave from here.
But when he was about to step out of the library, he stopped.
Maybe the location of the Pavilion of Knowledge is in the library?
Maybe the Room of Requirement did not misinterpret the meaning of the Pavilion of Knowledge and mistakenly brought Cyrus here, but the Pavilion of Knowledge itself is hidden in a corner of the library?
He turned around and looked at the rows of bookshelves in the dim library. They were like giants, guarding the knowledge of magic.
"If there is a place in the library that hides secrets, it can only be the forbidden book area!" Cyrus' eyes lit up, and he walked towards the forbidden book area without hesitation. The isolation magic of the restricted book area was useless to him. It was easier for him to go to the restricted book area than to go home!
The library of Hogwarts was very large. The traceless extension spell was cast inside. Thousands of books were gathered here. In the vast sea of books, anyone would be shocked by the knowledge itself.
Cyrus walked around and walked up and down several stairs, and finally came to a wall. Without thinking much, he immediately waved his wand.
"The original form is revealed!"
The power of ancient magic spread, and the wall in front of Cyrus became an illusory thing and collapsed instantly.
The blue-gray arch appeared in front of Cyrus.
Passing through the blue-gray arch, Cyrus stepped onto an ancient, dilapidated and magnificent road.
The flat road has now been slightly broken. Cyrus can't tell whether it is the power of time or the guardian's intention, but the golden decorations on the edge of the road are still luxurious.
He kept walking inside, and now he seemed to have come to a place that had nothing to do with Hogwarts. The dim but warm tones of the castle became deserted. Except for the road under his feet, there was no trace of decoration on the dome. The gray cave was wide and lonely. His footsteps kept echoing in the cave, and he didn't know where to go.
"Silent."
He cast a spell to erase all the sounds on his body.
In fact, his footsteps were already very light, but in this empty cave, the slightest sound would be infinitely amplified.
He crossed several narrow stone bridges and square venues along the way. These venues seemed to be dueling venues, and the broken ruins of the broken stone statues were scattered in every corner. They were killed by magic, and Cyrus recognized it as the killing curse at a glance.
He frowned immediately, and his heart sank slowly.
The magic power of the spell had not dissipated yet, and the spell had been released not long ago. This means that someone found the Seeking Knowledge Pavilion before Cyrus!
Who could it be?
The secrets of the Pavilion of Knowledge and ancient magic have not been cracked for hundreds of years, and Cyrus couldn't think of anyone else who could find this place.
And it happened to be at this point!
"I can only think of one person who can release the killing curse against several stone statues."
Cyrus was referring to Voldemort, and Voldemort did show his greed for ancient magic. But Cyrus couldn't figure out why the other party could find the Pavilion of Knowledge first.
However, no matter who was standing in front of Cyrus, he was ready to fight!
He held the wand tightly and continued to move forward.
After turning several corners, Cyrus once again walked to a room where the meditation basin was stored. This room was much smaller than the secret library, and the ground did not look like the water surface. Most of the time, there were no other extra mechanisms.
But there was a bigger trouble.
A short body slowly lifted the old and ugly head from the meditation basin. His eyes were very special, with black whites and pupils that looked like they were dripping with blood.
This was a face that was both strange and familiar to Cyrus. It was their first meeting, but Cyrus recognized him at first sight.
"Goblin, Lanlock?"
How could this ghost from a hundred years ago appear here?
In vault No. 12, Rookwood did say that a goblin had reached the deepest part of the secret vault, but they did not tell each other the secret of ancient magic, and they also activated defensive magic.
Cyrus thought Lanlock had died in the hands of the huge stone statue, but he didn't expect that he was still alive?
No!
Cyrus narrowed his eyes, and his golden eyes were like the sun shining through the darkness!
There was something wrong with this Lanlock.
He didn't seem to be really alive, but on the border between life and death. He looked like he had already run out of energy, but this shriveled body was forced to come alive for other reasons.
"I'm glad you're not stupid enough." "Lanlock" grinned like a beast.
"Voldemort?!"
Cyrus understood now.
It seems that Voldemort is possessed by Lanlock, but where did he find such a ghost from more than a hundred years ago?
As a magical creature, Cyrus was not surprised that goblins could live for more than a hundred years. In fact, these greedy blood-sucking insects usually lived to be over two hundred years old. But Cyrus didn't expect that Voldemort could actually find Lanlock's body after he had been missing for more than a hundred years.
And in Voldemort's current state, he can't possess anyone he wants.
Just like Cyrus in the diary at that time, he must first let others completely open their hearts to him and be willing to expose the most vulnerable parts of their hearts, and then he can possess the other person's body.
Cyrus didn't think someone like Lanlock would be willing to succumb to Voldemort.
"I said I would come back, Cyrus." Lanlock, or Voldemort, smiled ferociously. He was wearing heavy armor and clutching an ancient book in his gray and cracked nails. The moment he saw Cyrus, the book disappeared as if it had automatically apparated.
After being briefly surprised, Cyrus immediately came back to his senses and said sarcastically:
"You said you came back and stood in front of me with this pathetic posture?"
He wanted to know how Voldemort found Lanlock's body, and the missing book was obviously very important. It probably contained the knowledge of ancient magic, but at this moment, it fell into Voldemort's hands.
Gotta get that book back!
Cyrus narrowed his eyes and stared at Voldemort. The muscles under his robe were already tense, and the wand was waiting to be pulled out at any time. As long as the opponent showed any flaws, Cyrus would take action without hesitation!
"Yes, indeed." Voldemort did not break his defense this time. He probably felt that he should show some calmness and grace as his true form, so he said frankly, "I have to say that this is really a shame. The majestic Dark Lord can only Relying on a lowly goblin, but it’s much better than when I was in Albania, isn’t it?”
He reached out and knocked on the silver-black armor, which was as rugged as the bone spurs of a fire dragon, and said: "But you have to admit that even this most ugly and despicable race has merit. They have the ability to cast spells, and You can create such a pair of armor that can enhance magic power!"
Before he finished speaking, Voldemort took action first.
He raised his palm, and the armor on his body flashed with blood-colored light for an instant!
A black magic attack was immediately released from his palm.
It looks like a black mist, but there is an ominous blood glow in the black mist——
Cyrus drew out his wand without hesitation, flicked his wrist, and immediately shot out a magic spell to disperse the black mist.
Voldemort did not continue to attack, as if he was just demonstrating to Cyrus his power at the moment.
"More importantly, this goblin is different. He can see ancient magic -" Voldemort raised his ugly chin, paused, with a proud expression on his face, "How do they say -' Echo '.
"I have to thank you, Cyrus. If you hadn't killed the wizard's body in Gringotts, I wouldn't have found this container after escaping." Voldemort said softly.
For more than a hundred years, Lanlock's body seemed to have been lying in a corner in the underground cave of Gringotts. He was not dead, but had lost consciousness. This allowed Voldemort to take control of the body without any difficulty, and at the same time obtain the other party's memory.
Now, Voldemort has also obtained the ticket to ancient magic. As long as he does some magic experiments when he is resurrected, he can transfer Lanlock's ancient magic talent to himself.
By then, Dumbledore would be no match for him.
Of course, Voldemort now has another question he wants to ask Cyrus.
"Tell me, what did you do to my Horcrux?"
Although Voldemort tried his best to appear calm, when he talked about Horcruxes, his tone became a little more urgent and his pupils shrank. After discovering that the golden cup was missing, Voldemort immediately went to check his Horcruxes, and it was obvious that they were all missing.
He didn't look for the crown, but he didn't give up hope at this moment.
"You stole my things. I think Dumbledore should have taught you that you shouldn't do this, right?"
Cyrus:? ? ?
"You are really good at telling jokes, Tom." Cyrus was almost amused by Voldemort. "Among those Horcruxes, which one belongs to you except the diary and the ring?"
"Those are my Horcruxes! They are fragments of my soul!" Voldemort slammed into Cyrus, "Shouldn't you destroy them? You won't do that, will you? It won't do you any good."
"Who knows? Not everyone does things just for the benefit, maybe I am just interested -" Cyrus said playfully.
It's fun to tease a Dark Lord.
"How about we exchange? I can tell you that I have two Horcruxes in my hand now - hand over the book, and I can give you the ring."
Cyrus made an offer that Voldemort could not refuse.
But in fact, Cyrus just wanted to do nothing. The soul fragments in the ring have been devoured by him. The current ring is just an empty shell, a broken container, with no use at all.
Use the ring in exchange for Voldemort, then he will earn pure blood!
But to Cyrus's expectation, Voldemort refused.
In fact, Voldemort was a little surprised. He thought Cyrus might have three Horcruxes in his hand.
Could it be that the crown is still in the Room of Requirement?
Voldemort's mind became active.
If the crown is still there, then he actually has nothing to worry about. Even if there is only one Horcrux left, he can guarantee immortality. Didn't he make so many Horcruxes just to deal with the current situation?
"You are too confused, Cyrus." He laughed easily.
"Kill you, the ring and the gold cup are all mine!"
Thanks to Kopcn for the 100-point reward, thank you boss!
Tomorrow is the beginning of the month. If nothing unexpected happens, I should add more chapters, but how much I can add depends on how much I can write.
