Hello everyone, I am Qingkong Lezhang. I have already written 1.76 million words in this book. However, judging from the plot, it seems that it has not entered the middle stage yet. It has been bumpy along the way, far less smooth than the previous book. There are always many unexpected things in the creation. Some pits will only be known after falling into them. They are really deep.
According to the plot line, this book is a story after the timeline of "Not a Witch". I also want to stretch my imagination of the future world and tell the story of a protagonist who grows from immature to mature and powerful. However, I found many problems when I really created it.
First of all, the times have changed. Stories from immaturity to gradual experience and growth are no longer suitable for online novels. Such story lines are often about the protagonist waking up and changing at a certain point after facing some failures, setbacks and blows. At first glance, it is okay, but when you really read it, readers will feel a sense of frustration. In addition, everyone has seen a lot of this routine. Even if you grow up, it will not bring too much joy. I just think it should have been like this.
Therefore, most of the stories now are about maturity, becoming more mature and powerful, and directly skipping the initial stage of frustration and discomfort.
After talking about the protagonist, let's talk about politics and social forms.
It is undeniable that with the progress of the times, the public has a new understanding of various concepts and beliefs in the past. Many old-time beliefs such as loyalty, filial piety, chastity, sacrifice, unconditional obedience, etc., have to be questioned.
Who am I fighting for? Is everything I have paid really rewarded? Is all this sacrifice really valuable?
Many concepts are being deconstructed. More and more people believe that these moral concepts are just used by the upper class to govern and restrain themselves. They are just for profit propaganda, etc.
Yes, more and more cases, things, and news in society have made people fall into various anxieties. Everyone is afraid of being at a disadvantage, afraid of being cheated, afraid of not being able to keep the only little things, and is wary of various ideas that want to be instilled. It seems that the only feasible way is to constantly seek benefits for oneself.
But individuals are small, like duckweed without a home. While seemingly free, if they encounter any unexpected risks, they will be very vulnerable.
Looking back, the old Confucian monarch-minister ideology, slaves and masters, and the patriarchal system that strictly governed everything made people feel uncomfortable and disgusted. Looking forward to the future, the various "free" ideas advocated now seem beautiful, but when you think about it carefully, there are many problems.
There are wolves in front and tigers behind. Behind is the cage of the old times, and in front is a cliff in the air. You can fly freely, but there is no bottom below, so most people fall into confusion and hesitation.
Novels are products based on reality. When reality has many dissatisfactions, deficiencies, and boredom, people will want to make up for these shortcomings from fantasy works.
When I started writing, I also created the idea of conceiving the future of civilization, borrowing many elements, such as cyberpunk, stars, various science fiction novels, etc., but when I really wrote it, I found that there were too many problems to solve.
When you describe a beautiful tree canopy, how do you explain where the roots are? It may not be difficult to describe cyberpunk, but it is difficult to explain how such a society is formed and maintained. Although cyberpunk has constructed many scenes, the system behind such scenes is very fragile and about to collapse, and it is difficult to last long.
But even so, it is probably the limit of the future that the public can imagine. In the future, what form and social environment will humans in the interstellar era live in? It is still too far away from us. Just more than a hundred years ago in the Qing Dynasty, people at that time could not imagine the environment of the current information age at all, because the things that built such an environment had not entered the public's vision at that time.
For something that does not exist in cognition, it is necessary to use it to conceive a complete social system and world. If it is too far, it will make people feel illusory. It just feels that a large string of unfamiliar nouns need to be explained and understood, and it has no reference significance for reality. The story composed of such things is also difficult for people to resonate and be moved.
If we take a few steps back and just extend the cognition of modern society to describe the future interstellar era, it is indeed much easier to write, and everyone can understand such a life scene, but it seems a bit petty, just like primitive people lighting a bonfire and barbecue in space, which cannot meet readers' new expectations for the future world.
When writing this book, I gradually found that my imagination of the future is limited. I am not a human sociologist, nor an extremely knowledgeable scientific researcher. The more I describe such a vast world, the more I find that I still have shallow parts. In the end, I can only point to this and say a few words, fragmentary and unsystematic words.
I have always been disgusted with the plot not advancing in the novel, talking about some repetitive nonsense at length, and making some obscure and greasy political debates, but I still find myself doing these boring and uncomfortable things. I always want to be clear-minded and give everyone a satisfactory answer, but in the end, I still can't say anything new.
It's nothing more than those old words, fairness, equality, unity, etc., but I think everyone has heard too much of these and is a little tired of them.
The frenzy of the times urgently requires a new belief to fill the increasingly empty hearts of the masses. Unfortunately, such a perfect system framework has not yet been born.
Novels are the product of fantasy. They can easily create a perfect answer. But if you want everyone to believe this answer, you need a reasonable logic to build a foundation. I have been trying to depict a beautiful future, but I found that I was still a little powerless. So these strange and unconscious debates appear from time to time in the book. I hope these things will not cause trouble to everyone. Just treat them as the author's mumbling.
In the future, I will try to reduce the boring parts of this kind of debate, but I guess I will still have to write some. I just hope that everyone will not expose my shallowness, because I can only do this.
It seems a bit depressing to say that online articles should be easy and refreshing, but I am still a little greedy. I always want to write something that will make everyone remember me many years later, so I unconsciously want to dig deeper, trying to show my difference and retain everyone's love.
Such behavior, if done well, will naturally gain both fame and fortune, but if not done well, it will appear out of place and add to the laughter. I think this book is not done well now. I feel uncomfortable writing it, and everyone probably feels that it is not refreshing enough.
I will still try to write, after all, it is 1.7 million words, and it is not justifiable to stop writing at this time. But later, I may disappoint some of your expectations, because I can't tell you any completely shocking future world view, but I will try my best to describe some new possibilities or future fantasies. I hope everyone can restrain their high expectations.
The plot will probably be more like Tilan's daily life, more light and refreshing, of course there will be big scenes, sometimes just for that plate of vinegar, this pot of dumplings.
Little Tilan is really unfortunate. She should have been like Luolan, and she should have gone straight to the end of the level smoothly, but in my writing, in order to use her perspective to describe the world, I had to let her suffer a lot of hardships and do some things that were not in line with her original thoughts. I hope everyone can be a little more tolerant of her. After all, some problems are caused by the author's lack of writing skills, not her own reasons.
