Chapter 155 Sky and Lake Bottom

October 30th, a sunny Friday.

Just like today's weather, the smiles on the faces of the Hogwarts students have been almost uninterrupted since the early morning. Even in the air, there seems to be a joy called "anticipation".

In class, no one was paying attention anymore - even Hermione was a little absent-minded, and everyone thought that Beauxbatons and Durmstrang's people were coming tonight.

Probably because of the get out of class ending half an hour earlier, even the most unbearable Potions class on weekdays didn't seem so difficult.

When the bell rang early, Harry, Ron and Hermione hurried to the Gryffindor Tower, put down their respective schoolbags and textbooks as the teacher instructed, put on their cloaks, and walked in two steps in three steps. Rush down the stairs and walk quickly towards the auditorium.

In the hall, the deans of each college are directing the students of their respective colleges to line up for welcome.

Professor McGonagall still looked serious and orderly; the little Professor Flitwick jumped up from time to time to straighten the wrinkles on a Ravenclaw student; and Professor Snape, as always, Aloof, and it is said that he seems to have a worse temper lately.

It is worth mentioning that Professor Sprout of Hufflepuff seems to be in a bit of a low mood, although she is still doing her every duty.

"Maca is gone, Professor Sprout seems very sad..." Hermione looked at her from a distance, and subconsciously bit her lips, "That bad guy is really annoying!"

"What are you talking about?" Ron, who was standing behind, took two steps forward and asked a little strangely.

Hermione rolled her eyes at him and turned her head away.

"Nothing!" she said angrily.

Ron looked at Harry inexplicably, and wondered, "What did I do wrong... Shouldn't I ask?"

Harry shrugged, indicating that he didn't know either.

Obviously, when Hermione couldn't find anyone to vent her anger for a while, Ron joined in by himself. Who can blame this?

"Follow me, everyone," said Professor McGonagall, "the first-years are at the front... don't be crowded..."

The little wizards lined up down the steps and stood neatly in front of the castle.

It was almost night now, the sun was well below the horizon, and the sky was being swallowed up by night. A hazy but white moon has already hung over the Forbidden Forest.

The weather has been quite cold recently, the temperature has dropped rapidly, and everyone feels a little cold. But fortunately, the air here is still so fresh that people can't help but want to take a few more breaths.

Harry stood between Ron and Hermione, just to the left in the fourth row; Luna stood in the far right of the third row.

Everyone was excitedly scanning the field that was getting dark, but there was no movement. Everything was so still, just like a normal night at Hogwarts, silent.

"It's almost six o'clock," said Ron, looking at his watch, looking down the driveway leading to the front door. "How do you think they'll come? By train?"

"I don't think so," said Hermione.

"Then how? A broomstick?" Harry looked up at the starry sky, guessing.

"I don't think... from that far away..."

"Portkeys?" Ron guessed. "Or they can Apparate—maybe people under seventeen are allowed to Apparate in their part?"

"Apparitions are not allowed within the confines of Hogwarts, how many times do you have to tell me?" said Hermione impatiently.

Harry rubbed his arms vigorously - he did feel a little cold.

"I just wish they would hurry up..." Harry shivered and could not help muttering softly.

He remembered that before the Quidditch World Cup final,

What Mr. Weasley said at camp: "It's always been like this - when you get together, you can't help showing off..."

Perhaps, those foreign students are also preparing for a dramatic entrance ceremony!

At this moment, Dumbledore, who was standing in the back row with other teachers, suddenly spoke.

"Well, if I'm not mistaken, Beauxbaton's representative has arrived."

"Where?"

Many students hurriedly looked in different directions.

"There!" A sixth grade student pointed at the sky above the Forbidden Forest and shouted.

It was a huge thing, and it was flying rapidly across the dark blue sky, towards the castle. It was not very clear at first, but as it got closer, it gradually became bigger and bigger.

"It's a dragon!" A first-year student couldn't help screaming, obviously, he was so excited that he didn't know what to do.

"Stop being silly...that's a house flying!" argued another freshman.

When the huge black thing flew over the treetops of the Forbidden Forest and was illuminated by the lights from the castle windows, they saw it clearly-it was a huge powder-blue carriage!

It was really as big as a house, and it was drawn in the air by twelve winged horses, all silver-maned horses, and each of them was about the size of an elephant.

If Maca was there, he would be able to recognize it at a glance: it was a rare specialty in the French magic world-the rune horse.

When he was in Blois Castle, Willy's father took a carriage drawn by a rune horse when he went out to meet guests. Although the carriage was also fairly well-crafted, it did not appear to be a quarter the size of Beauxbaton's.

The carriage flew even lower, and it was landing in the open space in front of everyone at an extremely fast speed. The students standing in the first three rows hurried back several steps.

Immediately afterwards, there was an earth-shattering bang, which made Neville jump back and stomp heavily on the foot of a fifth-year Slytherin student.

I saw those horseshoes thumping on the ground, each of them was as big as a Hogwarts dinner plate.

In the blink of an eye, the carriage also landed - its huge body shook a few times on the same huge wheels. At the same time, those golden horses shook their huge heads, and their big fiery red eyes rolled around.

On the door was stamped a coat of arms, consisting of two golden crossed wands, with three bright stars emerging from the tip of each wand.

Soon, the car door was opened from the inside.

A boy in a light blue robe jumped out of the carriage, bent over, and groped a few times on the floor of the carriage. Immediately, a golden spiral staircase was opened.

He jumped back reverently, and they all saw protruding from the carriage a shiny black high-heeled shoe—it was as big as a child's sledge!

The next moment, a woman of super size to match the shoe got out of the carriage. If anyone was as big as this woman, it was obviously Hagrid.

Dumbledore started to applaud, and the students followed suit. Many stood on tiptoe, trying to get a better view of the woman.

Her face relaxed into a graceful smile.

Then she stretched out a gleaming hand and walked towards Dumbledore. Although Dumbledore was also tall, he hardly had to bend down to kiss this hand.

"Dear Madame Maxime," said Dumbledore, "welcome to Hogwarts."

"Dumbledore," Madame Maxime said in a low voice, "I hope you are well."

"Very good, thank you." Dumbledore said politely.

"My student," Madame Maxime said, waving her huge hand nonchalantly behind her.

At this time, everyone who looked away from her noticed that about a dozen or thirteen male and female students had gotten out of the carriage, and they were standing behind Madame Maxime at this moment.

Judging from their appearance, they are all about ten or so years old, and they are all trembling slightly.

It is not at all surprising that they are cold. For their robes seemed to be of fine silk, and neither wore a cloak. Several students covered their heads with scarves or hoods.

"Is Karkaroff here?" Madame Maxime asked.

"He'll be here any minute, you are..." Dumbledore said, turning his head suddenly, "Oh, it seems he's already here."

The little wizards who were listening to the conversation between Madam Maxim and Dumbledore immediately looked in the direction Dumbledore was looking at.

Soon, everyone heard a loud and strange voice coming towards them from the darkness.

It seemed to be a suppressed rumbling and bubbling sound, like a giant vacuum cleaner moving along the river bed...

"At the bottom of the lake!" A student pointed to the surface of the lake and said, "Look at that lake!"

Needless to say, everyone has already seen it.

Everyone stood on the slope of the lawn overlooking the site, and could clearly see the calm and dark water.

At this time, the lake suddenly became no longer calm.

There was a commotion under the water in the middle of the lake, and huge waves surged on the surface of the water, pushing the lake water to slap the lake shore wave after wave.

Then, right in the middle of the lake, a large whirlpool appeared, as if some terrible water monster was greedily swallowing the cold water in the lake.

Suddenly, something like a long black pole suddenly rose from the vortex, it seemed to be a thick ship's mast.

As if to confirm everyone's conjecture, a large ship broke through the water and slowly appeared in everyone's sight.

It looks weird, the keel of the ship protrudes slightly, like the skeleton of a giant creature. And the whole ship looked dilapidated and gloomy, as if it was a wreck of a sunken ship that had just been salvaged, and even a glimmer of light could not be seen in the portholes...

Just when everyone thought that the ship would be heading towards the shore in their direction, a small figure suddenly flew up from the deck of the ship and rushed straight at a not slow speed. )!!
