Chapter 172 Amy and Snape
It was already the next morning when Sherlock left the Ministry of Magic.
He did not use Apparition to return to the Leaky Cauldron directly, but strolled along the streets of London, bought three breakfasts in the restaurant, and then walked back slowly.
With Scrimgeour's words, the first part of his goal had been achieved.
Even if Mrs. Selwyn did not agree to his entry into the Department of Mysteries in the end, he could still settle for the Auror Headquarters.
Although he could not contact the Department of Mysteries directly, today's incident at least made him familiar with Mrs. Selwyn, and it would be much easier to contact her later.
Back to the Leaky Cauldron, it was still the same as when he left, of course, this was also the reason why he had been gone for less than three days.
After greeting Old Tom downstairs and not finding anything special in his words and expressions, Sherlock came to the second floor and pushed the door into Room 11 where he had been living.
The room was empty, and the quilts on the two beds were folded neatly, but there was no sign of Amy.
Sherlock frowned slightly, as if he had a bad premonition, and he called out softly to the empty room.
"Amy."
But still no one responded to him.
Given Amy's personality, if she was still in the room, she would definitely not joke with him like this, which only meant that she was not here.
Sherlock's heart sank immediately, he left his breakfast on the table, hurriedly opened the door and walked out, and came to Room 12, Snape's room. Just as he was about to knock on the door, he vaguely heard a conversation inside.
"Amy thinks you should put three leaves like this in the pot."
"I told you that if you want to stay here, shut up while I'm making the potion!"
"But Amy is right."
"..."
"Look! You put four leaves in it and it's mushy."
"If you didn't say anything! Of course I would put three instead of four!"
"Why should I put four leaves just because Amy said so? Is Amy wrong?"
"Shut up! Go play with your windmill!"
Sherlock's frown gradually relaxed. Hearing the conversation inside, he smiled and returned to Room 11, brought the breakfast he had bought before, and gently knocked on the door of Room 12.
There was silence inside for a moment, and then there seemed to be some subtle movements. Under Sherlock's control magic, he could clearly "see" Snape with a gloomy face putting on an invisibility cloak for Amy and letting her hide under the bed.
About five seconds later, the door was opened a crack, and the cold face hidden behind the crack saw Sherlock's smiling face.
After seeing who was coming, Snape opened the door completely and let Sherlock in.
"Now, take this little girl away immediately! She has been annoying me for two days!"
Snape looked resentful and angry, but Sherlock, who had long been familiar with him, knew very well that he was not angry at all, but just said one thing and did another.
"Why did Amy annoy you? I asked you to prepare the medicine correctly, but you got angry and didn't follow her instructions?" Sherlock teased.
Snape's face froze, and he snorted coldly and stopped talking.
Amy, who was hiding under the bed, also heard Sherlock's voice. She crawled out from underneath and threw the large invisibility cloak on the ground.
Amy still held the windmill in her hand and looked at Sherlock with her clear and bright eyes.
"Did John have good luck this time?"
Sherlock took off the amulet that he had been wearing around his neck and put it back on Amy.
"Its effect may be greater than you think, Amy. It not only brought me luck, but also allowed me to meet your father."
Amy's mouth corners became flat, and this expression actually showed that she was smiling.
"Amy knows that her father will be fine, because when he left, Amy felt the same as before."
Sherlock touched her head and put breakfast on the table.
"Let's eat first. I'm done with my work. I can take Amy to the amusement park tomorrow."
Amy had no idea about the amusement park, but she was very happy that Sherlock was willing to go out with her.
"Will Tobias go too?"
Sherlock was stunned for a moment before he remembered that Tobias was Snape's pseudonym.
He glared at Snape who was trying to see if he could save the pot of burnt potion.
"I'm asking you! Will you be with us tomorrow?"
Snape looked at them with a dark face and took the breakfast Sherlock bought for him.
"What do you think we need to do now? Take the little girl to the amusement park as a babysitter!"
Amy blinked.
"Tobias doesn't like the amusement park?"
Snape snorted coldly and said sarcastically.
"Except for young and ignorant children, who would really like that boring place."
"But John said the amusement park is fun."
"So he is no different from you who are young and ignorant. This is why you can get along so well!"
"But Tobias is obviously very good to Amy."
"Nonsense! I wish you would disappear from my sight immediately!" Snape's voice was a little exasperated.
Sherlock ate his sandwich with a sour face, listening to their quarrels and even scolding himself.
"Of course I know what we should do. What do you think I have been doing these days? Regarding Lily's matter, I can't say that I have a clue, but at least I have a direction."
Snape suddenly raised his head and stared at Sherlock.
"You are not lying to me!"
Sherlock helped Amy tear open the paper wrapped around the sandwich.
"Believe it or not, do I need to lie to you?"
Snape's eyes flashed, and he clenched his fists slightly.
"Didn't you say that history can't be changed..."
"History can't be changed, but it's okay for us to add some personal opinions to history. What can't be changed are those things that have already happened and are already known and recognized by people in the future. These things can't and can't be changed."
Sherlock wiped the salad dressing from Amy's mouth with a tissue.
"And a large part of Amy's credit goes to this discovery."
Although Amy didn't understand what Sherlock was saying, she could still hear that he was praising herself, and she couldn't help showing some pride on her face.
"So are you willing to go to the amusement park with Amy tomorrow?" Sherlock looked at Snape and raised his eyebrows again.
Snape was silent for a moment, and then said as if he was squeezing the sound out of his teeth.
"I'll go."
Sherlock patted his shoulder with satisfaction.
"That's right! Uncle Tobias."
