Chapter 111: Family Affairs
Grandpa An looked at the chill on his grandson's face, and he didn't know what he was thinking about. His expression changed slightly, and his attitude was not as tough as before. He said, "I want to see them."
"Let them come tomorrow." An Shijue seemed easy to talk to.
Grandpa wanted to say today, but when he looked at the sky, it was a little late, so he had to give up.
"Grandpa doesn't have any instructions, I'll go up first." An Shijue said lightly.
"Go." Grandpa An waved his hand.
An Shijue walked towards the stairs, and as soon as he got to the second floor, he saw Cheng Anyue hiding in the corner.
He stopped, looked at her, and said lightly, "What did you hear?"
"No." Cheng Anyue shook her head subconsciously.
An Shijue suddenly reached out and touched her head, "No matter what you heard, just pretend you didn't hear it."
The hand on the top of her head was large and slender, but it was a little cool, and this coolness spread directly from the top of her head to the soles of her feet, but she didn't feel cold, but relaxed physically and mentally.
Cheng Anyue nodded, "I know."
Looking at the frightened look of the little girl, An Shijue's eyes darkened slightly, and he suddenly withdrew his hand and turned to walk towards his bedroom.
Cheng Anyue watched him enter the room, and her heart was relieved. If she had known, she would not have gone downstairs so quickly, or she should not have eavesdropped.
From their conversation, An Shijue's relationship with everyone in the An family was very tense.
Even, for some reason, An Shijue hated his father and uncle?
Cheng Anyue didn't dare to think too much and turned back to the room.
After staying in the room for ten minutes, she went downstairs.
In the restaurant, the old man and An Shijue were already seated.
The old man sat in the main seat, and An Shijue sat opposite him. Cheng Anyue looked at the arrangement of the tableware, greeted the old man, and then sat next to An Shijue.
At the table, Cheng Anyue felt that the atmosphere was more serious than when she had dinner with An Shijue before, and she really didn't dare to make a sound.
However, the more nervous she was, the easier it was to make mistakes. She accidentally knocked over the bowl.
The sound of porcelain colliding was extremely harsh in this quiet environment.
Her face turned pale and she immediately picked up the bowl.
"Didn't you learn the rules when you came in?" The unhappy voice of Mr. An came.
Cheng Anyue felt embarrassed when she heard it.
She was born in an ordinary family. Whether it was etiquette or status, she was destined to be incompatible with a top-notch wealthy family like the An family.
What happened in school today made her realize this again, and now the dislike of Mr. An's family made her feel even more inferior.
Suddenly, with a "bang", something fell to the ground, interrupting her thoughts.
Cheng Anyue subconsciously looked over in the direction of the sound and saw a red wine glass fell to the ground. The red wine was cheap all over the ground. The color lighter than blood was mixed with the glass fragments, but it was particularly dazzling.
"My hand slipped." An Shijue's careless voice came from the side.
Grandpa An's expression changed slightly, and he looked at An Shijue, with anger rising in his eyes. He snorted coldly, "Why, you started to disobey me after being the head of the An family for a few days?"
"Grandpa has a problem with me, why bother an irrelevant person?" An Shijue looked at Grandpa An and said indifferently.
Grandpa An snorted coldly, "I think you have been bewitched by this girl, you really disappoint me!"
He glanced at Cheng Anyue with cold eyes.
Cheng Anyue immediately lowered her head, almost like an evasive action.
"The person who really disappoints you should be your son. Instead of teaching me a lesson, you might as well take care of him first." An Shijue said indifferently, "After all, I don't want to see another illegitimate brother of mine pop up in the news."
Grandpa An's face sank slightly, and he became irritable when he thought of his son's troubles.
If his son was motivated, how could he hand over the family business to his grandson who was one generation apart from him?
